Working to reduce explosions and fatalities at European oil refineries

Cineon has been commissioned by a leader in European oil refinery safety to create a virtual reality training programme to help reduce the number of accidents at its refineries.
The Cineon team were invited by Concawe to speak in Brussels about the work they do in the field of simulation training and performance psychology and were able to demonstrate several simulations created for various industries.

Cineon Training MD, Toby de Burgh said: “Like all safety-critical industries Concawe are working to reduce accidents to zero. Hence we will be targeting process accidents at refineries across Europe, using a Virtual Reality training tool that will be validated using eye-tracking data captured onsite.”

“The outcome of this will be demonstrated in Antwerp in early 2019.”

As part of this commission, Cineon will call on the latest research on human performance studies conducted by academics at the University of Exeter.
