Continuing work to improve nuclear operator training

The Cineon team are currently working on the second phase of a project to train nuclear workers in safety procedure surrounding air-fed suits.

This work follows on from funding obtained from Innovate UK last year, where Cineon developed a prototype virtual reality (VR) simulation designed to train operators in the correct dressing procedure of air-fed suits (fully contained hazard suits which are used in radiation areas where there is a high risk of contamination).

This project has now entered its second phase and will be developed further to incorporate more in-depth training.

Following user feedback, the simulation will be simplified and will be developed to incorporate additional safety training relating to PPE, safe working conditions and hazard identification.

This VR simulation has been designed for the Oculus Quest and will be demonstrated at an upcoming NDA event.
