Data Scientist
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Data Scientist with a background in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to join our growing development team. As a Data and Machine Learning Developer, you will play a vital role in creating, deploying, and refining algorithms that process, analyse, and learn from large psychophysiological data sets. Your expertise will directly contribute to the advancement of our immersive technology solutions (working in Unity / C#) and their applications across various sectors. The ideal candidate will have previous knowledge or experience in human factors and psychology, or an equivalent field.
About Cineon:
Cineon is a specialist company in immersive technology that leverages eye-tracking for a range of training and therapeutic applications. Our mission is to improve outcomes and enhance human performance across various safety-critical sectors by applying contemporary research findings in psychology and neuroscience. We have developed data-driven tools called PAVE (Psych Adaptive Virtual Environments), which utilise in-built eye-tracking to create artificially intelligent Virtual Reality experiences. These ground-breaking solutions enable covert and real-time indexing of emotions, behaviour, and performance.
Person Specification:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (ideally with an application to human factors, psychology or neuroscience).
Experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
Strong expertise in analysing large data sets.
Proficiency in machine learning techniques, including regression, classification, clustering and deep learning.
Experience with programming languages such as Python; familiarity with C# is a plus.
Prior exposure to, and knowledge of, physiological sensors, biosensors and data acquisition systems.
Knowledge of signal processing techniques applied to psychophysiological data.
Proficiency in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and selection techniques.
Strong statistical analysis skills and experience with statistical software (e.g., Matlab).
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong communication and data visualisation skills.
Effective collaboration and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Skills (not mandatory but beneficial):
Experience of working with eye-tracking data.
Experience working with game engines such as Unity and knowledge of cross-platform communication.
Experience or familiarity with Data-Oriented Programming.

Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 Pro Rata
