Data Scientist / Machine Learning Developer


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Scientist with a strong programming background to join our expanding development team. As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with senior team members to develop and implement algorithms that process, analyse, and learn from large psychophysiological data sets. Your role will primarily focus on utilising programming skills to support the data analysis and modelling tasks within the team, and working as part of the development team to realise solutions inside a real-time render engine.

Cineon is a specialist company in immersive technology that leverages eye-tracking for a range of training and therapeutic applications. Our mission is to improve outcomes and enhance human performance across various safety-critical sectors by applying contemporary research findings in psychology and neuroscience. We have developed data-driven tools called PAVE (Psych Adaptive Virtual Environments), which utilise in-built eye-tracking to create artificially intelligent Virtual Reality experiences. These ground-breaking solutions enable covert and real-time indexing of emotions, behaviour, and performance.

Person Specification:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.Proven experience or demonstrated knowledge in programming and data science.
Experience or familiarity with game engines such as Unity.
Familiarity with programming languages, particularly Python and C#.
Understanding of machine learning techniques and their application to data analysis.
Interest in signal processing techniques applied to psychophysiological data.
Basic proficiency in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and selection techniques.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
Familiarity with statistical software, such as Matlab.
Passion for immersive technology and its potential applications.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but beneficial):

Experience or familiarity with Data-Oriented Programming/Object-Oriented Programming.
Previous experience of eye-tracking.

Salary: £29,000 to £44,000 Pro Rata
